24th-27th February, 2008. Our exhibition at
Focus, NEC.
eyeCandy at Focus
Excellent! Fantastic! Sublime! were just some of the visitor quotes on our
comments board at the Focus on Imaging event at NEC Birmingham.
A terrific team effort saw our innovative 3-D display efficiently put up on
time and at minimal budget.
People were drawn to our stand by the originality and variety of media on
display and could not resist picking up the hanging stereoscopic viewers to
see what was inside. Spheron were so impressed that they took the photo
shown here with their remarkable HDR camera.
Congratulations go to Lucy Munday for winning the Young Canon photographer
of Focus 2008, for her subtle and considered image of a decorative bottle.
Congratulations also to David Abrahams for winning Young Nikon photographer
of Focus 2008, for his vibrant, graphic Clockwork Orange montage.
We finished the week confident of our ability to put on a great show and
looking forward to building on the experience for our exhibitions in London
and Cheltenham in May.
Print Auction
The elegant surroundings
of The Daffodil Restaurant in Cheltenham
were packed out on Sunday 9 December 2007 for our fantastic
fundraising auction. A massive thank you to
everyone who contributed prints and other items for the auction and
raffle, particularly to photographers Steve Harris, Nick Meers, Mel
Bles, Mike Crawford and course tutors John Ingledew and Trudie
Ballantyne. Overall we made a huge profit of over £2000 to put
towards our London show.
It
was a sell-out, as our plucky auctioneers, James Kriszyk and David
Abrahams did a tremendous job successfully selling all 50 lots.
Congratulations to Louise King, whose highest-selling framed
photograph, Scrapyard, generated frantic bidding.
Finally, we would like to say thank you to all the bidders and hope
that you are enjoying your purchases. If anyone missed out on
favourite prints, please contact us through the
website, as we may be able to assist.
